Twenty-plus years of campaigns, content, and SEO strategy — and what's kept me hooked all this time isn't the tactics, it's the systems underneath them. The way data and creativity fit together. The way the right idea, in the right place, at the right moment, gets someone to act. The opportunity to create a meaningful message.
I'm an enthusiast at heart — genuinely fascinated by how it all works, still excited when the plan comes together. The same curiosity that built Darling, static fuels this, too.
No big pitch here, just an honest rundown. Here's what I do, and where I tend to be most useful.
Long-game strategy that moves rankings and revenue — plus the leading edge stuff: helping clients get found and recommended by the AI platforms that are changing how people find things.
Editorial calendars, brand voice, and campaigns that sound like a person wrote them. Because one did.
The part where the idea meets the plan — finding the right angle, shaping the message, and setting it up to land well.
Building and mentoring content & SEO teams — the part of the job that doesn't show up in a portfolio, but matters most.
I got my start in advertising and copywriting back in 2004, and have spent every year since finding new angles on content and SEO. I've been Content Lead at Intel, Director of Strategic Content at CanIRank, and I'm currently a Principal Strategic SEO Advisor at Scorpion, building strategy and visibility for clients across industries.
Twenty-plus years in, I've worked across tech & SaaS, healthcare nonprofits, ecommerce, finance, legal, home services, B2B and B2C — and been part of two successful company acquisitions along the way. If there's a throughline, it's this: I like figuring out what makes people pay attention, and then building something real around it. If you've been over to the Darling, static page, you already know the other side of that — same curiosity, just pointed somewhere different.
